Judith A Kirby, M.D., F.A.C.S.


Dr. Kirby’s professional interests include general ophthalmology, especially cataract surgery and glaucoma management. In addition, she  manages diabetic eye diseases and macular degeneration. She also performs routine eye exams.  Her office has state of the art, top-of-the line equipment to better serve her patients’ needs. DR. JUDITH KIRBY is a board certified ophthalmologist. She originally started practice in Plano, Texas in 1997, but decided to open her own independent office at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas in 2007. She attended Drexel University Medical School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.  There, she received the American Medical Woman’s Association Memorial Achievement Citation and also received awards for distinguished academic performance in medicine and surgery. She received the physiology and biophysics awards and was a member of the Sigma Xi National Honor Society for achievement in research. During medical school, Dr. Kirby was a Research Fellow at the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health.  She came to Texas for her residency training in Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where she was selected to be Chief Ophthalmology Resident. She was a postdoctoral research fellow at Baylor College of Medicine and was awarded the NIH National Research Service Award.  She then came to Dallas for her vitreo-retinal fellowship at UT Southwestern, in Dallas.
